Biography

Laurence D. Higgins, M.D. is the Chief of the BWH Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service and the Co-Chief of the Boston Shoulder Institute at Harvard Medical School. His career began at Duke University where he was an Assistant Professor of Surgery, Division of Orthopaedics. While at Duke, he served as the Orthopaedic Team Physician for Duke University Athletic Department, caring for all student-athletes and was recognized for his dedication to the Men’s Basketball and Lacrosse teams from 1998-2005. In addition, he served as the Orthopaedic Team Physician for North Carolina Central University (NCCU) and was acknowledged for his commitment having the training room at NCCU named in his honor.
