Biography
Andrew Makrides, Esq., Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Hofstra University and a Juris Doctor Degree from Brooklyn Law School. He is a member of the Bar of the State of New York and practiced law from 1968 until joining Bovie Medical Corporation as a cofounder and Executive Vice President and director, in 1982. Mr. Makrides became President of the Company in 1985 and the CEO in December 1998 and has served as such until March 18, 2011 at which point he relinquished his position as President, but remained CEO until December 2013. Mr. Makrides employment contract extends to December 31, 2016. Mr. Makrides has over 30 years of executive experience in the medical industry.
