Biography
"A. Jay Wagner is new to the faculty for the 2016-2017 academic year. He comes from the mass communications program at Indiana University, by way of a teaching fellowship at Butler University in Indianapolis. His research focuses on access to government information, in particular the Freedom of Information Act and populous transparency activities and movements. A. Jay has taught a range of courses at Indiana University and Butler University, including journalism skills, communication law, critical media studies and access to government information. He has worked professionally as a journalist, primarily writing for Sun-Times Media in the Chicagoland. He has also worked in press rights advocacy, as a summer fellow at the International Press Institute in Vienna, Austria and for half a year at the McCormick Foundation in Chicago. He received his PhD from Indiana University in the fall of 2016 and earned an MA from DePaul University and a BS from the University of Dayton."
