John Jongdoo Ahn

Biography

Mr. John Jongdoo Ahn serves as the President at Great American Capital Partners, LLC. Mr. Ahn led the initial fund capital raising process and actively manages all aspects of the fund's activities. Mr. Ahn serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Riley Investment Management, LLC and in March 2004, joined B. Riley and Co. Inc., as a registered representative, where he managed a hedge fund. Mr. Ahn served as the Head of Corporate Finance at B. Riley & Co., LLC. From 2004 to 2015, he served as the President of B. Riley & Company, LLC where he oversaw its investment banking business. Prior to joining Riley Investment Management, LLC, he served as a Managing Director of Sales and Trading at Maxcor Financial Group in its high yield and distressed bond group, from March 2003 to January 2004. Previously, he served as a Managing Director at Standard Capital Group Inc. from 1995 to 2003. From 1990 to 1995, he specialized in trading distressed bonds and bank loans at several boutique broker-dealer firms including Butler & Associates, Rivkin & Company and Dabney Resnick. Mr. Ahn was a Partner in Standard Capital Group Inc. from 1997 to 2003 where he took charge of originating, structuring and syndicating transactions. He served as Vice President, Sales and Trading at Rivkin & Company since 1993. From 1995 to 1997, he served as the Senior Vice President, Sales and Trading Department in Dabney/Resnick, Inc. where he was responsible for sourcing private debt and bank loan opportunities for the sales and trading desk. From 1987 to 1990, he worked at Security Pacific Bank as a Trader in the loan syndications area, where he was responsible for loan portfolio of investment grade and high yield bank loans. He has more than 27 years of experience in capital markets and financial advisory services. He has extensive experience in capital raising, trading and sales of distressed debt and equities. He has been Vice Chairman at Hanmi Financial Corporation since October 2017. He serves as the Vice Chairman and board director of Hanmi Bank, a NASDAQ-listed company. He serves as Director of Hanmi Bank. He serves as Independent Non-Executive Director of Keppel-KBS US REIT Management Pte. Ltd. He has been a Director of Hanmi Financial Corporation since December 1, 2014. He serves as on the Board of Korea Finance Society. He served as a Director of MAIR Holdings Inc. since February 2007 and an Independent Director of Townsquare Media, Inc. from September 14, 2007 to April 27, 2010. He has wide range of experience in capital raising, trading and sales of distressed debt and equities. Mr. Ahn has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a minor in political science from Williams College in 1987.
