Mark Kazelskis

Biography

 Mr. Kazelskis has approximately 23 years of experience focused on conduct, management, and/or supervision of environmental, water resource, geologic, and mining investigations. Mr. Kazelskis has been with Broadbent since 1993 where he currently serves as a Principal Geologist. He has also previously served as a Board Member. His current responsibilities include: oversight of technical aspects of soil and groundwater characterization and remediation; preparing/reviewing Proposals, Work Plans and budget requests; managing state trust fund reimbursement submittals; safety compliance; annual and long range budgeting and cost modeling; strategic long range site and regional planning; and liaison between clients and regulatory agencies. His background and direct experience includes all aspects of environmental corrective action projects from characterization to closure, including characterization planning, pilot testing, remedial option evaluations, remediation system design, oversight of remediation system installation and operations and maintenance and application of client-specific practices for integrity management. Other direct experience includes water resource evaluations for construction and mine pit dewatering projects and groundwater supply evaluations including groundwater production well siting, well design and construction supervision, aquifer testing and interpretation of data, design of single and nested monitoring wells for shallow and deep-water aquifers, and development, calibration and operation of numeric steady-state and transient-state MODFLOW groundwater models. Mr. Kazelskis has a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from the University of Michigan. His professional registrations include: Professional Geologist / Registered Geologist (Arizona, Utah and California), Certified Hydrogeologist (California), Certified Environmental Manager (Nevada CEM), And Certified UST Consultant (Utah).
