Biography
Alex Alvarez is Senior Vice President, Chief Production Officer for Brown-Forman Corporation. He leads the Global Production operations around the world and is a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team. Alex’s breadth and depth of global leadership experience has been built over two decades in roles of increasing responsibility. He was hired by Brown-Forman in 2007 as Director of Bottling Operations in Louisville before being promoted to the Vice President, General Manager of Casa Herradura in November 2008. As the General Manager, Alex led numerous initiatives including integrating the Casa Herradura business into Brown-Forman, modernizing the production facility, stabilizing agave supply and demand, and expanding distillery operations. In early 2013, his role was expanded to include leadership oversight of the Sonoma-Cutrer winery in California. Prior to joining Brown-Forman, Alex led major production operations for General Mills and initially began his career as a project engineer for Procter & Gamble. He holds an electrical engineering degree from Iowa State University and will complete his Executive Master of Business Administrations degree from Northwestern Kellogg School of Business in July. Alex possesses an enriching background in addition to his professional experience, having lived in four countries and originally from Panama. He and his family reside in Louisville.
