Biography
Beth Froehling joined Campbell Law School as the director of student life and pro bono opportunities on Sept. 4, 2013. Froehling brings over 20 years of experience in public interest and public service to her role at the law school. Froehling received her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she served in a leadership role with numerous student organizations and received the Dean’s Letter of Recognition for Leadership. She received the Annual Student Pro Bono Service Award for her efforts in creating a domestic violence advocacy project while in law school. Froehling most recently served as the Executive Director of the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCCADV), a statewide non-profit, where she successfully launched a pro bono project in collaboration with Legal Aid of North Carolina to recruit attorneys to represent victims of domestic violence. During her tenure at NCCADV, Froehling worked on over 50 pieces of legislation to strengthen domestic violence laws in North Carolina. She received the Professional Impact Award from the Durham Crisis Response Center in 2011 for her work in Durham and across the state to advance policies and laws to support victims of domestic violence. Froehling previously served as an Assistant District Attorney for the 14th Prosecutorial District where she developed a specialized domestic violence court under the leadership of the Honorable James E. Hardin, Jr. In this role, she served as Project Director for the Criminal Justice Intervention Program for Domestic Violence and as Coordinator of the Durham Alliance Against Domestic Violence. Froehling also previously served as an Assistant County Attorney where she represented the Durham County Department of Social Services and served as the primary attorney for the Child Support Enforcement Division and the Adult Services Division.
