Dr. Adam Foster

Biography

Dr. Adam Foster is an assistant professor of anatomy. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Iowa, a Master of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Wyoming, and a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Arizona. His doctoral work focused on using an animal model to explore links between bipedal locomotor behaviors and musculoskeletal morphology to test assumptions regarding traits linked with human bipedal anatomy. Dr. Foster’s postdoctoral work at Northeast Ohio Medical University explored how allometric changes in mammalian musculoskeletal morphology and locomotor mechanics are linked with performance throughout growth and development. His research interests at CUSOM focus on how growth and development of the locomotor system can provide insight into the links between form and function in humans and other mammals to explore how these organisms adapt to environmental and ecological challenges.
