Dr. Ted Hancock

Biography

Ted Hancock, PharmD, assistant professor of pharmacy practice, was recently named chronic care pharmacist of the year by the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists. The award was presented at the Association’s 2012 Chronic Care Practice Forum in Charlotte, N.C. NCAP bestows the annual award to a member of the Association who has helped advance the practice of chronic care pharmacy for patients, pharmacists or other practitioners during the course of the year. “I was both surprised and honored to receive this award for a role that I greatly enjoy. Teaching pharmacy students and helping patients understand their medications is very rewarding. To receive thanks from my patients, and acknowledgement from my peers, is truly the icing on the cake,” said Hancock. Hancock is a practice-based faculty member and clinical pharmacist practitioner at Wilmington Health in Wilmington, N.C. He received his PharmD degree in May 2007 after completing the UNC Clinical Scholars program. He is board certified in geriatrics and ambulatory care. His future career interests include providing service and leadership to the pharmacist community, and the application of technology to the field of pharmacy.
