Biography
He is a physician scientist with interests in myocardial disease, therapeutics and genomics. His background includes research training in both myocardial and skeletal muscle biology and genetics, cardiovascular phenotyping in mouse models and cell culture; single-cell phenotyping of cardiomyocytes and more recently iPS cell derived cardiomyocytes; and extensive development work in allele-specific silencing. He analyzed whole genome sequencing for clinically actionable rare and novel variants, first from a single patient and now from groups of inherited cardiomyopathy and undiagnosed disease patients.
Research Interest
cardiomyopathy genetics, mechanisms, screening, and treatment. Investigating novel agents for treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and new mechanisms in heart failure
