Biography
In addition to an integrative model for cancer treatment, it was the compassionate, patient-centered approach to fighting cancer that first attracted Dr. Ashish Sangal to Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA). He joined CTCA® at Western Regional Medical Center (Western) in Goodyear, Arizona, in November 2012, and serves as the hospital's Medical Director of The Lung Center. Dr. Sangal earned a bachelor of medicine, bachelor of surgery (MBBS) degree from Dr. M.G.R. University in Tamil Nadu, India. He completed a residency in internal medicine from Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, where he was named “Intern of the year”. He later went on to become Chief Medical Resident. Dr. Sangal then completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Brookdale University hospital as a Chief Fellow. Prior to joining CTCA, Dr. Sangal served as a hematology/oncology associate at a cancer center in Sayre, Pennsylvania. While there, Dr. Sangal was an integral part of the thoracic oncology program. A member of the American Society of Hematology and American Society of Clinical Oncology, Dr. Sangal has given presentations in annual oncology meetings and has been published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Sangal is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in hematology, medical oncology and internal medicine. Dr. Sangal enjoys playing tennis, swimming, cricket and watching football. He is an avid fan of the New York Giants and Los Angeles Lakers.
