Biography

Diane G. Cassels, MS, serves as executive administrator at Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University. She served as clinical administrator in the Department of Radiation Oncology for 23 years. She has over 30 years of oncology management experience. She served as Chief Operating Officer of The Emory Children’s Center and Department of Pediatrics from 2002-2006. She is a registered radiation therapist and brings to the cancer center a depth of knowledge in clinical, research and fiscal issues. During her 21 years at Emory University, she has had extensive collaborations across the School of Medicine and Woodruff Health Sciences Center. She serves on the Executive Committee, Shared Resource Allocation Committee, Space Committee, Membership Committee, Clinical Council, Emory Cancer Committee and Clinical Working Group within Winship. In addition, she chairs the Winship Administrative Council. She was also a member of the Winship Strategic Planning Steering Committee. She is involved in the recruitment of faculty across the Departments within the School of Medicine, including Hematology and Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Surgical Specialities and other schools including the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. Research Interest

Ms. Cassels has been a board member of the American Cancer Society and United Way and is on the board of Camp Sunshine, a resource for children with cancer. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Society for Radiation Oncology Administrators, the Association of Academic Administrators of Radiology and Radiation Oncology, and is President of the Association of Cancer Executives.
