Biography
My work is focused on all aspects of development and utilization of novel PET radiopharmaceuticals, ranging from organic synthetic chemistry, radiochemistry, in vitro characterization, pre-clinical microPET experiments in animal models, to human PET imaging and PET data analysis. Examples include development and application of novel radiolabeled glucose derivatives for PET quantitation of sodium dependent glucose transporters (SGLTs) expression in cancer, in vivo PET imaging of neuropathological protein aggregates in a variety of neurodegenerative disorders chronic traumatic encephalopathy in professional athletes. My work also extends to PET quantitation of serotonin 1A receptors in the hippocampus of Alzheimer’s disease as a measure of neuron loss in this disease.
