Biography

Luis Boza is an Associate Professor of Architecture and the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies at CUArch. He specializes in the area of computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) and advanced building technologies. He has served as the director for The Summer Institute of Architecture (SIA), the director for the Master’s level graduate concentration in Design Technologies, and the studio coordinator for the Comprehensive Building Design Studio (CBDS). Mr. Boza is also one of three founding faculty members of The Catholic University of America Design Collaborative (CUAdc), a non-profit architectural design firm providing services to community groups in the District of Columbia. He has had his work both published and presented at various national and international venues including Syracuse University, Mississippi State University, University of Detroit-Mercy, University of Kentucky, and the University of Toronto. His work in digital design-build studios has been published and exhibited internationally. In 2005, he received the New Faculty Teaching Award from the Association of Collegiate School of Architecture and in 2006, the Education Honor Award from the American Institute of Architects. Luis Boza received his Bachelor of Architecture from CUArch and his Master of Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. He previously held positions with Core, PC in Washington, DC and with Kennedy & Violich Architecture (KVA) in Boston, MA. He served as project manager and designer for the East / Harlem River Ferry Landings Project which received a Progressive Architecture Award (2002) and an Award for Excellence in Design from The Art Commission of the City of New York (2003). Currently, Mr. Boza is a founding partner of Reform, LLC, an interdisciplinary design / research collaborative based in Washington, DC. founded in 2006.
