Biography
Sergio Restrepo was born in Medellín, Colombia, but after spending more than a decade in Madrid, he also became a Spanish citizen. Restrepo earned his Bachelor's degree in music-classical guitar at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá, Colombia. After his studies in Bogotá, Restrepo spent more than one year in Tokyo, Japan, where he devoted his time to the study of Japanese contemporary music, getting in touch with Japanese conceptual art and music. As a result, Restrepo enlarged his scope as an artist and theorist, focusing in the study of the conceptual aspects of different disciplines, such as the fine arts and the literature, as in their postmodern and hypermodern representations. Currently, Restrepo is studying at the Department of Modern Languages and Literature, at The Catholic University of America, where he is pursuing his Ph.D in Hispanic Literatures and Cultures.
