Biography
I am a neurosurgeon with subspecialty fellowship training in Cerebrovascular Surgery and Endovascular Neurosurgery. I have been the Director of the Cedars-Sinai multi-specialty Neurovascular Center for the past seven years, and previously was the Director of the Duke University Neurovascular Center for seven years. I have participated as a co-investigator in multiple N.I.H. sponsored clinical trials including COSS, SAMMPRIS, MISTIE3, and have been institutional PI in several multi-center stroke related trials including PICS, START, THERAPY, SAPPHIRE WW, SAMMPRIS, and WEAVE. I am currently the co-PI for the multi-center WEAVE intracranial stent trial. As the past president of the SNIS (Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery), I am accustomed to working on many collaborative efforts between Neurosurgery, Neurology, Interventional Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, and NeuroIntervention, and assisting in trial development and recruitment. In my role as the institutional PI lead for multiple trials, I will have led and interacted with the multiple specialties involved in these trials.
