Christina Isacson

Biography

  Dr. Isacson is a gynecologic pathologist with an interest in teaching and women’s health issues.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude in Biology from Carleton College and completed her Medical Degree at the University of Iowa College of Medicine.  Post-graduate training included an internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan Medical Center, residency in Anatomic Pathology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and a two-year fellowship in Gynecologic Pathology at Johns Hopkins Hospital with Dr. Robert J. Kurman.   In 1996, Dr. Isacson joined the faculty of Weill Medical College of Cornell University where her research interests included HPV-related disease and diagnostic immunohistochemistry.  In 2000, she moved to Seattle where she has worked at Virginia Mason Medical Center and CellNetix Pathology.   Dr. Isacson has served on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Gynecological Pathology and currently is Section Editor of Gynecologic Pathology for Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.  She has a long standing relationship with the United States & Canadian Academy of Pathology where she has been on the Education Committee, served as Short Course Coordinator and was appointed to Council in 2011.  She is also a co-author of the widely used “An Illustrated Manual for the Dissection of Surgical Pathology Specimens”.  Dr. Isacson is a sought after speaker and guest reviewer on topics related to Gynecologic Pathology, is listed in Best Doctors in America® 2007-2013 database and is frequently named by her peers as one of "Seattle's Best Doctors" in local publications.  Dr. Isacson joined our Seattle pathology group in 2008.
