Ashwin Datt

Biography

Mr. Ashwin Datt is Head of People at Vitrisa, an early stage biotechnology company focused on transforming eye care and ending blindness. He has over 25 years of lab management, business operations, and human resources experience in academia and industry. He has led culturally diverse teams across global regions including the US, Europe, and Asia. Mr. Datt has worked in some of the most innovative organizations including UCLA, TRW, Amgen, Genentech, Roche, and GRAIL. He has demonstrated leadership in building and supporting teams across disciplines in R&D, Commercial, and Manufacturing Operations. Mr. Datt is passionate about delivering value and being an authentic leader who engages and works to develop people and build teams. Mr. Datt focuses on connecting the science, the clinical utility, and the organizational energy necessary to deliver meaningful benefit for patients. His R&D teams have supported the filing of over 70 INDs/CTAs for New Molecular Entities (NMEs) in various disease biology areas including immunology, ophthalmology, cancer, infectious disease, and neuroscience. As a Commercial leader, he has built teams to support New Product Marketing (for therapeutic areas in immunology, respiratory, and ophthalmology) and field based teams leading business to business discussions on various programs supporting products in Ophthalmology, Rheumatology, and Respiratory Franchises. His mantra is to connect personal mission with organizational purpose to improve healthcare and people’s lives.
