Biography

Mr. James A. Geraghty, also known as Jim, J.D., served as an Interim Chief Business Officer of Voyager Therapeutics, Inc. Mr. Geraghty served as Senior Vice President of North America Strategy & Business Development at Sanofi. He worked 20 years at Genzyme Corporation. He is an industry leader with 30 years of strategic and leadership experience, including more than 20 years as a Senior Member of Executive Teams at biotechnology companies developing and commercializing innovative therapies. He served as Senior Vice President of North American Strategy & Business Development at Genzyme Corporation and served as its Senior Vice President since May 2003 and Vice President since May 2001. He joined Genzyme in 1992. He served as Vice President of Marketing & Strategic Planning at Baxter International Inc. He served as Vice President of Genzyme Oncology, Inc. (also known as Genzyme Molecular Oncology) since May 2001 and served as its Senior Vice President of International Development since January 2001. He served as the President of Genzyme Europe B.V. from 1998 to 2002 and served as its General Manager of its Cardiovascular Business from 2004 to 2008. He led Genzyme's acquisition of SangStat Medical Corporation in 2003. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of rEVO Biologics, Inc. (formerly, GTC Biotherapeutics Inc. and Genzyme Transgenics Corporation) from February 1993 to July 1998. He oversaw Genzyme's Humanitarian Assistance for Neglected Diseases program, under which it supported innovative therapeutic programs on a non-commercial basis. He served as Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Planning for Baxter and Caremark International. He was a Consultant on international health care strategy at Bain and Company. He was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Third Rock Ventures, LLC since May 14, 2013. He focused on creating companies dedicated to improving the life's of patients with rare genetic diseases and supporting existing portfolio companies in the rare disease space, such as Fulcrum. He has been the Chairman of Idera Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since July 2013 and rEVO Biologics, Inc. since April 2014. He has been Chairman of the Board of Pieris Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since November 17, 2017. He has been the Chairman of the Board of Juniper Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since July 7, 2015 and its Director since May 2015. He served as the Chairman of rEVO Biologics, Inc. from January 1998 to July 2001. He has been a Director of Pieris Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since May 22, 2017 and Immunexcite, Inc. since March 30, 2016. He has been an Independent Director of Voyager Therapeutics, Inc. since January 7, 2014. He serves as a Director of Fulcrum Therapeutics, Inc., MG Biotherapeutics LLC, Therapeutic Human Polyclonals, Inc., BIO Ventures for Global Health, Excigen Inc. and Myosix SA and as a Member of the Advisory Board of KBC Biotech Fund. He has been a Member of Advisory Board at CANbridge Life Sciences Ltd. since September 26, 2013. He has been a Trustee of Joslin Diabetes Center, Inc. since January 14, 2014. He served as a Director of bluebird bio, Inc. (Also known as Genetix Pharmaceuticals, Inc.). He served as an Independent Director of rEVO Biologics, Inc. from February 1993 to December 2, 2010. Mr. Geraghty holds a J.D. from Yale Law School, an M.S. from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from Georgetown University.
