Jeff Nelson

Biography

 After slogging through two years of biomedical engineering in college, Jeff discovered the field wasn’t for him after all. He realized there’s something to be said for choosing a career doing what you’re naturally good at. Since he happens to be very good with numbers, Jeff decided to major in accounting and is currently living happily ever after. As financial manager for the CompHealth locum tenens division, Jeff devotes his number-crunching talent to finding ways to maximize the company’s profitability. Jeff appreciates the positive atmosphere at CompHealth. “It’s really nice to come to work every day and know it’s going to be a positive experience. And it starts at the top with Mike Weinholtz [CHG CEO].” The Salt Lake City native has moved to faraway places but he always comes back. He calls it the rubber-band effect: “The longer I’m away, the more I want to come home.” When he’s not “Excel-ling” at spreadsheets or bean counting, Jeff likes pretty much any sport that involves a ball, the latest being bocce ball (yeah, we had to look that word up, too).
