Steve Staley

Biography

    Dr. George Henry Stephen Staley, also known as Steve, FGS, MBA, is Founder of Derwent Resources Limited and serves as Managing Director. Dr. Staley has 27 years of experience in the energy sector, including Cinergy Corp, Conoco and BP, with considerable experience in the European, African and Asian oil, gas and power sectors. Dr. Staley has been Chief Executive Officer and Director of Upland Resources Limited since October 12, 2015. He was Founder of Independent Resources PLC and served as its Managing Director. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Fastnet Oil & Gas Plc until November 14, 2012. Dr. Staley serves as a Director of Derwent Resources Ltd., Derwent Resources (Ksar Hadada) Ltd., Western Resource Investments, Inc. and Cold Gold Co Ltd. He has been a Non-Executive Director of 88 Energy Limited (formerly Tangiers Petroleum Limited) since April 9, 2014. He served as a Director of Independent Resources plc, Independent Energy Solutions srl and Independent Resources (Ksar Hadada) Ltd. He served as Non-Executive Director of Fastnet Oil & Gas Plc from November 13, 2012 to January 17, 2014. Dr. Staley served as a Non Executive Director of Cove Energy plc from February 2, 2010 to August 17, 2012. He is a Fellow of the Geological Society holds a BSc (Hons.) in Geophysics from Edinburgh University, a PhD in Petroleum Geology from Sheffield University and an MBA from Warwick University.
