Biography
Guangming Yao has an undergraduate degree and master degree in mathematics from Haerbin Normal University and a Ph.D. in computational mathematics from the University of Southern Mississippi. Her research concentrates on meshless method for solving differential equations and mathematical modeling. She is curious about differences on mathematics education between China and US. She likes to listen to her colleagues and students instead of doing something productive, and knitting.
Research Interest
My research interests include numerical solutions of ODEs and PDEs, radial basis functions, and related mathematical modelings and computations:1. RBF-PDE. This is my primary research area where I'm investigating numerical methods using radial basis functions (RBFs) to solve various types of partial differential equations including elliptic PDEs and other time dependent PDEs. RBFs are used to discretize spatial domains on scattered data.
