Biography
C. Allen Bashour, MD, graduated from the University of Texas, Austin, Tex., with a B.A. in biology. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, Tex. His post-graduate training includes a general surgery residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City, where he served as chief surgical resident; and a clinical and research fellowship at the Surgical Cardiovascular Unit of the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, followed by additional fellowship training in cardiothoracic surgery and critical care medicine at Cleveland Clinic.
Research Interest
He is a recipient of the Cleveland Clinic distinguished Bruce Hubbard Stewart Fellowship Award for his contribution in the area of patient care. Dr. Bashour is certified by the American Board of Surgery in Surgery and in Surgical Critical Care. His specialty interests include cardiovascular and thoracic surgery critical care, resident education and clinical research.
