Biography
Dr. Xavier Jimenez is the Director of the Chronic Pain Section of the Center for Neurological Restoration at the Cleveland Clinic, andthe medical director of the Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program, an interdisciplinary functional restoration treatment program managing the most refractory of chronic pain syndrome patients. Dr. Jimenez completed his Masters in Biomedical Ethics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland OH before entering and completing medical school training at Ross University School of Medicine. Thereafter he specialized in psychiatry at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic at the University of Pittsburgh MedicalCenter, completing additional training in psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Center. He later specialized in Psychosomatic Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard School. He has experience clinically in medicine, chronic pain management, psychiatry, psychosomatic medicine, consultation ethics, integrative medicine, teaching, and research. His academic interests are in chronic pain syndromes, central sensitization, medically-unexplained symptoms, functional somatic syndromes,abnormal illness behavior, and psychosomatic medicine.
