Injazz J Chen

Biography

" Injazz J. Chen is Ahuja Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management in the Monte Ahuja College of Business Administration, Cleveland State University, where he received several awards for research and teaching excellence. He received his M.S. in Operations Research and D.B.A. in Operations Management from the University of Kentucky. His current research interests focus on the areas of sustainable supply chain management (SSCM), supply chain management (SCM), and strategic purchasing and supply management. His recent research findings appear in a wide variety of journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Production Research, Omega, and others. He is one of 27 scholars worldwide whose research in supply chain management (SCM) is profiled in a research book entitled ""Les grands auteurs en logistique et Supply Chain Management (The Great Authors in Logistics and Supply Chain Management)"" for making major contributions to the development of the discipline. Published in 2016, chapter 12 of the book is dedicated to his research (ISBN 978-2-84769-877-0). His 2004 paper, ""Strategic Purchasing, Supply Management, and Firm Performance"" (with A. Paulraj and A. Lado), published in the Journal of Operations Management (JOM), was invited for presentation in the JOM Best Paper Award session at the Academy of Management annual meeting in August 2005. Also published in the Journal of Operations Management (JOM), another paper, ""Towards a Theory of Supply Chain Management: The Constructs and Measurements"" (with A. Paulraj), is recently ranked by the SSCI (social science citation index) as the most widely cited article published in the JOM in 2004, 2005, and 2006. Recently, Dr. Chen and his co-authors A. Paulraj and J. Flynn have been awarded the 2007 Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management Best Paper Award, for their publication, ""Levels of strategic purchasing: Impact on supply integration and performance,"" which appeared in Vol. 12 (3), May 2006, of the journal. The 2007 JPSM Best Paper Award is granted by the team of editors to the paper that makes the most significant contribution to research in the area of purchasing and supply management out of the 10 most downloaded articles in 2007, and that have been published in 2006 and 2007. The award was announced at the IPSERA conference in Perth, Australia in March 2008. Dr. Chen has served on the Editorial Boards of several academic journals, including Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management, International Journal of Integrated Supply Management, and the American Society for Quality's Quality Management Journal."
