Biography
" I was born in Rochester, NY. At age 5, my family moved to a small town about an hour and a half southwest to a town with more cows than people. I attended St. Bonaventure University and majored in mathematics. I went on to graduate school at The University at Albany to pursue a Ph.D. in pure mathematics. My first semester I was assigned to be a TA for introductory statistics, and I taught my first class in statistics the next semester. I started to take graduate statistics courses so I could at least know a little more than my students. I Fell in love with the subject when I realized statistics involved working with real data to solve real problems. I earned my Ph.D. in statistics in 1995. After teaching 5 years at Youngstown State University, I moved to Cleveland State University in the summer of 2000. I am passionate about giving students a quality statistics experience in my courses. Statistics affects us all in new and exciting ways, and I try to communicate that important roll to students at all levels."
