Biography
" Paul R. Milton is currently an Assistant Professor and Undergraduate Coordinator for the Sport Management program at Cleveland State University. He formerly served as an adjunct professor of sport administration at Kent State (2014-2016) and as Associate Professor and Program Team Leader for the Graduate and Undergraduate Programs in Sport Management for Ashland University. Entering his eleventh year as a faculty member, Dr. Milton teaches the business and finance of sport, sport facility management and design, sport management, ethical and social issues in sport, leadership in sport, diversity and sport, and sport marketing and promotions. Dr. Milton is a native Californian and earned a bachelor¿s degree in history from the University of California-Davis. He holds a Master¿s in Intramural Administration from Michigan State University, and the Doctor of Philosophy degree from Kent State University. Dr. Milton¿s research interests are varied, but focus mainly on the impact of recreational sports programs on student learning, recruitment and retention. His latest manuscript, co-authored with colleagues from Ohio Dominican University, was a legal-based treatise on sponsorship in intercollegiate athletics and mitigating culpability for the unrelated business income tax which appeared in the Applied Research in Coaching and Athletics Annual. Dr. Milton recently began a fifth three-year term as Editor of the Recreational Sports Journal, the scholarly, peer-reviewed journal of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association. During his nearly 40 years in higher education, Dr. Milton has served on several Department, College and University committees. He has conducted a number of programs reviews, both at institutions at which he has served, and for departments of recreational sports at other colleges and universities. He and his wife Pat, reside in Munroe Falls, Ohio. They both enjoy sports, especially golf, an activity they have been able to pursue together at the local, state and national amateur level."
