Matthew P. Smith

Biography

Mr. Matthew P. Smith, also known as Matt, MBA has been the Chief Commercial Officer at SynteractHCR since November 24, 2016 and also served as its Senior Vice President of Global Commercial Operations until November 24, 2016. Mr. Smith served as Senior Vice President of Business Development at SynteractHCR (formerly Synteract, Inc.). He served as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Synteract, Inc. since March 5, 2012. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Clinimetrics Research Associates, Inc. since January 2009. He oversaw daily operations of Clinimetrics' San Diego business unit since 2000 and he was responsible for managing the United States business development efforts and systems related to corporate business modeling, project pricing, proposal development, project backlog and contracts management. He served as the Senior Vice President of U S Business Operations of Clinimetrics Research Associates, Inc. He has over 20 years of experience in clinical research management, business development and operations within the contract research industry. He began his career in clinical research at International Clinical Research Corporation focusing in the area of Phase I through IV psychiatry and neurology clinical trials. He then joined the CNS division of Quintiles Transnational Corporation with positions of increasing responsibility in clinical operations, project management and business development he served as an Associate Director of Business Development and Planning. Mr. Smith holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Colorado, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Psychology.
