Biography
Dr. Brent Satterfield, Ph.D. is the Founder of Co-Diagnostics and is the company’s Chief Technology Officer and lead scientist. Dr. Satterfield is a Bioengineer and mathematician with an expertise in a specific type of complex mathematics called Cooperative Theory. He uses Cooperative Theory to develop a groundbreaking new methodology for creating accurate PCR tests in a fraction of the time and cost. He is the first in his field to use engineering mathematics to design new DNA testing technology. As such, he has developed new diagnostic platforms for groups such as the Department of Homeland Security, the National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center, the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Disease, Sandia National Laboratories, the California Department of Public Health and numerous others. Under fellowship from the Department of Homeland Security, he received his Ph.D. in Bioengineering with an emphasis in entrepreneurship and intellectual property law from Arizona State University in a dual enrollment program at UC Berkeley. He also graduated summa cum laude with honors from Arizona State with a B.S. degree in Bioengineering.
