Biography
Håkan Edström joined the Board of Directors of Vaccinogen in 2015 and serves as the Chair of the Company’s compensation committee. Mr. Edström was most recently the Chief Executive Officer of MannKind Corp., a role he held from January 2015 thru November 2015 following his tenure as President and Chief Operating Officer of the company since 2001. Previously, he held roles of increasing responsibility with Bausch & Lomb, serving as Vice President and President of the Global Surgical Division and Senior Corporate Vice President of the America’s Region. During his time, he was also a member of the Executive Committee. From November 1997 to January 1998, Mr. Edström was the Chief Executive Officer of Chiron Vision (which was acquired by Bausch & Lomb). Prior to this he spent 16 years, 1981-1997, with the Pharmacia Corporation, where he held various executive positions including President and Chief Executive Officer of Pharmacia Opthalmics, Inc. Mr. Edström has served as a Director of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, Greater Los Angeles Chapter, and was a member of the Board of Directors of Biora Inc., Gimbel Vision International, Ixion Inc. and Q-Med AB. He was educated in Sweden and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics.
