James Healy

Biography

James I. Healy, M.D., Ph.D. has been a member of our Board of Directors since February 2014. Dr. Dr. Healy has been a General Partner of Sofinnova Ventures, a venture capital firm, since June 2000. Prior to June 2000, Dr. Healy held various positions at Sanderling Ventures, Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals (as successor to Miles Laboratories) and ISTA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Dr. Healy is currently on the board of directors of Amarin Corporation plc, Ascendis Pharma, Auris Medical, Natera, and several private companies. Previously, he served as a board member of InterMune, Inc., Hyperion Therapeutics, Inc., Anthera Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Durata Therapeutics, Inc., CoTherix, Inc., Movetis NV and several private companies. Dr. Healy holds an M.D. and a Ph.D. in Immunology from the Stanford University School of Medicine, a B.A. in Molecular Biology and a B.A. in Scandinavian Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. We believe Dr. Healy is qualified to serve on our Board of Directors due to his extensive experience investing and working within the pharmaceuticals industry, as well as his extensive service on the boards of directors of several other life sciences companies.
