Biography
Sarah Jayne Hitt received her Ph.D. in Literary Studies from The University of Denver and degrees in English from DePaul University (M.A.) and MacMurray College (B.A.). She is a recent addition to the Division of Humanities, Arts, & Social Sciences (2012), having previously taught at The Women’s College at the University of Denver, in the English and Writing departments at the University of Denver, and in Chicago at both DePaul University and Robert Morris College. She has also worked in and helped administer Writing Centers at these institutions. A native of Nebraska, Dr. Hitt’s research interests include Literature of the American West, Native American Studies, Gender and Women’s Studies, Ethnic Literary History, Immigration Literature, Chicano Literature, and Identity Theory. She loves to help students become better thinkers, readers, and writers.
