Biography
Dr. Jeremy R. Knowles, Ph.D., is a Harvard University Service Professor. Dr. Knowles is a distinguished Chemist and joined the Harvard faculty from Oxford University in 1974. He served as an Amory Houghton Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Harvard University since 1979 and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences from 1991 to June 2002. He serves as Director Emeritus at Corning Incorporated. He serves as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board of East Hill Management Company, LLC. He serves as a Trustee of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. He served as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board of Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated. He served as a Director of Corning Incorporated since 2002. He served as Director at Dow Corning Corporation. Dr. Knowles is a Fellow of the Royal Society, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the American Philosophical Society, and a Foreign Associate of the National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Knowles holds a B.A. degree and D.Phil. from Balliol College.
