Jonathan Koch

Biography

Mr. Jonathan Koch is Group President of Covance’s Research and Development Laboratories.  Mr. Koch assumed his current role in August 2015. Mr. Koch joined Covance’s Central Laboratory Services business in 2006 to lead its Global Operations and Clinical Trial Services groups.  He later assumed the role of General Manager for Covance’s Indianapolis facility in addition to his global operating role.  His experience in operational and commercial areas spans drug development from early non-clinical development to late-stage clinical trials. In October of 2008, Mr. Koch became Vice President and General Manager of a Greenfield, Indiana facility providing a broad set of services in support of late discovery and early development work for pharmaceutical clients.  The site was purchased from a strategic partner as part of a long-term alliance which Mr. Koch managed for the company.  In early 2010, he was asked to lead three other company locations and service lines encompassing discovery toxicology and pharmacology, biomarkers, genomics, antibody products and immunology services. In January 2011, Mr. Koch assumed the role of Corporate Vice President of Covance and Global General Manager of Covance Central Laboratory Services.  Covance CLS is the most experienced provider of clinical trial laboratory services in the world assisting clients with a wide array of services including scientific consultation, laboratory testing, project and data management, investigator support and global logistics. Prior to joining Covance, Mr. Koch served as Vice President of Clinical Operations, Americas, at Charles River Laboratories.  He spent nine years with Charles River Laboratories in various roles of increasing responsibility and scope ranging from administrative functions such as finance, contracts, and proposal development to operating groups that included project management, clinical monitoring, medical affairs and pharmacovigilance. In his time with Covance, Mr. Koch has won the Executive Committee’s Client Leadership award twice, in 2008 and 2012. Mr. Koch holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance, and a master’s degree in business administration, finance and management from Western Michigan University.  Mr. Koch lives in Pendleton, Indiana with his wife, Courtney, and son, Connor.
