John F. Mcdonnell

Biography

Mr. John F. McDonnell, also known as Jack, serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Calpont Corporation. Mr. McDonnell serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Crosswalk Inc. Mr. McDonnell was a Co-Founder of McDATA Corp., served as its Chief Executive Officer from its inception in 1982 to 2002, President from 1982 to 2001 and Chairman of the Board of Directors from 1998 to January 31, 2004. Mr. McDonnell has more than 35 years of experience in the data communications field, including 26 years in corporate and technical management and 5 years in engineering. Prior to founding McDATA, he held various corporate management and engineering positions at Storage Technology Corporation and Computer Communications, Inc. Mr. McDonnell spent two years at Storage Technology Corporation (StorageTek), where he started a new data networking division in which he served as Vice President and General Manager. Preceding this experience, Mr. McDonnell spent 11 years at Computer Communications Inc., where he designed communications subsystems and launched numerous networking products. While at Computer Communications, he rose through the ranks from Software Engineer to Vice President of Marketing. He started his career at RCA, where he developed classified satellite and missile tracking systems. He served as the Chief Executive Officer at Calpont Corporation. Mr. McDonnell served as Treasurer of James S. McDonnell Foundation. Mr. McDonnell serves as Chairman of InfiniDB, Inc. Mr. McDonnell serves as Vice Chairman of Washington University, St. Louis. He serves as Director of Crosswalk Inc., James S. McDonnell Foundation and served as its Treasurer. He served as Director of McDATA until January 31, 2004. He attended California State University at Long Beach.
