Biography
Josh Flum is the Executive Vice President, Enterprise Strategy and Corporate Development for CVS Health. In this role, he is responsible for accelerating CVS Health’s growth through long-term strategic planning and market development initiatives, partnerships, investments and acquisitions. In addition, he drives organizational alignment on the positioning of CVS Health in the changing health care marketplace and in identifying new market opportunities and business models to further innovation and long-term growth. Previously, Flum served as CVS Health’s Executive Vice President of Pharmacy Services, focused on growing CVS Health’s retail pharmacy business through the development and implementation of innovative programs and initiatives. He led the pharmacy operations, pharmacy professional services and payer relations functions that support the company’s more than 9,600 retail pharmacies. In addition, he oversaw CVS Health’s Enterprise Product Innovation and Development team and the Enterprise pharmacy growth team. Flum joined the company in 2004. Prior roles at CVS Health include leadership positions in Pharmacy Operations and Pharmacy Technology. He has led several initiatives focused on improving pharmacy workflow, productivity and quality, which have significantly enhanced pharmacy services at CVS Pharmacy. Flum also led the cross-functional team responsible for the design and launch of the company’s ground-breaking Pharmacy Advisor program. Flum is a graduate of the Yale Law School and spent the first years of his professional career clerking for the Honorable Edward R. Becker on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and then as an associate with the law firm Miller, Cassidy, Larroca and Lewin, LLP. He then joined the Boston Consulting Group where his work focused on the consumer and retail practice area. Flum earned his bachelor’s degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Tufts University and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
