Biography
Longstreet earned his bachelor’s degree in general business and pre-law at Michigan State University’s Eli Broad School of Business. He also graduated from USC’s Marshall School of Business Food Industry Management Program in 2000. Longstreet began his career with Hormel Foods in 1992 as a sales representative in Grocery Products in the District of Columbia. After serving in various sales positions on the East Coast and West Coast, he worked in corporate brand marketing at the company’s Corporate Office (Austin, Minn.). In 1998, Longstreet joined Dole Food Company and served as director of marketing and vice president of sales and business development in their packaged foods and fresh vegetable divisions. Longstreet rejoined Hormel Foods in 2006 and became the first non-family member to serve as president of Farmer John in 2007. He assumed his recent role of president and CEO of Farmer John Foods in 2011 when he merged Farmer John with acquired Saag’s Specialty Meats. Longstreet has led the successful transformation of both Farmer John and Saag’s into highly engaged, strategic, innovative, customer-driven organizations.
