Biography
Jeff Sharlet is the nationally bestselling author or editor of six books of literary journalism, including The Family, described by Barbara Ehrenreich as “one of the most compelling and brilliantly researched exposes you’ll ever read,” and Sweet Heaven When I Die, about which The Washington Post declared “this book belongs in the tradition of longform, narrative nonfiction best exemplified by Joan Didion, John McPhee, [and] Norman Mailer… Sharlet deserves a place alongside such masters.” Sharlet’s work has earned numerous awards, including the National Magazine Award, the Molly Ivins Prize, and the Outspoken Award. He’s a contributing editor for Harper’s, Rolling Stone, and Virginia Quarterly Review, and a frequent contributor to GQ. At Dartmouth College, he is the publisher of 40 Towns.
