Biography
Mr. Gregory N. Longstreet, also known as Greg, has been Chief Executive Officer at Del Monte Foods, Inc. since September 5, 2017. Mr. Longstreet is responsible for DMFI's strategy, business and overall organization. He has over 25 years of work experience in the food industry, having held critical commercial roles in sales, marketing and general management, including as President and CEO. He has led FMCG companies with agricultural businesses that are vertically integrated, has led successful growth within various businesses and has managed diverse manufacturing and supply chain operations. He also held a number of leadership roles requiring substantial transformation management across categories, business models and company cultures. started his career in sales and marketing with Hormel Foods Corporation ("Hormel") in 1992 as a grocery products sales representative in Columbia, Md. He was promoted to grocery products territory manager in the Pacific division in 1993 and in 1994, grocery products territory manager in Los Angeles. He assumed roles of increasing responsibility in a company very similar to Del Monte, Dole Foods Company, Inc, where he served as Director of Marketing and New Product Development at Dole Packaged Foods and held sales and marketing leadership roles as Vice President within Dole's Fresh Vegetables division. He also led the strategic expansion of Dole Fresh Vegetable Foodservice business and the integration of four newly acquired South American produce companies. Mr. Longstreet served as the Chief Executive Officer of CytoSport, Inc. since July 2015 and served as its President where his work included innovative brand and product expansion within the beverage, bar and powder segments of the sports nutrition category, with an increased focus on brand development, new product introductions and multi-channel expansion. Mr. Longstreet served as the President of Clougherty Packing, LLC (Former Name: Farmer John Meats) since August 1, 2007 and served as its Chief Executive Officer. In 1996, Mr. Longstreet became an associate product manager for grocery products at the Hormel Foods' corporate office in Austin, Minn. In 1997, he was promoted to product manager for grocery products. In 2006, he served as Vice President of foodservice sales for Clougherty Packing. Mr. Longstreet completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in General Business studies from the Michigan State University Eli Broad School of Business. He is also a graduate of the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business Food Industry Management Programme.
