Biography
A Virginia native, Dr. Burnett served patients in southern Virginia since 1973, specializing in medical and surgical dermatology, and is now happy to bring over 40 years experience to patients in Southport, NC. From 1970 to 1972, Dr. Burnett was chief of the Department of Dermatology at McDonald Army Community Hospital, in Fort Eustis, VA, serving as a major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. Dr. Burnett has treated more than 45,000 patients during his career. Dr. Burnett is an active member of his local, state and national medical communities. He was on the Virginia State Board of Medical Examiners, chairman of the Virginia Medical PAC, on the board of directors of the Medical Society of Virginia, president of the Virginia Dermatological Association, president of the Halifax County Medical Society, and president of the National Masters Dermatologic Association. Dr. Burnett is also a deacon of the First Baptist Church in South Boston, VA, and a 32nd degree Mason.
