Biography
Hisham A Abdel-Aal, PhD, obtained his first degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Alexandria University, Aleandria Egypt. He received his Doctoral degree in Precision Engineering from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte in 1998. Since his graduation he has been active in research and teaching in the US and abroad. He has occupied several invited positions in Europe, South America and Asia. Including an invited Research Professorship at the Laboratoire de Materiux et Procedes at Arts et Métiers ParisTech in France where he founded the first research group for Bio-inspired sustainable surfaces for manufacturing. Abdel-Aal, PhD, has lectured extensively on the subjects of tribology, Bio-inspired surfaces, and thermodynamics of wear in five continents, and the author or co-author of numerous research papers on the subject.
