Allan R. Will

Biography

 Mr. Allan R. Will has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of EBR Systems, Inc. since October 18, 2011 and also serves as its Chairman. Mr. Will served as Founding Managing Director of Split Rock Partners LLC, Split Rock Partners, L.P. and Split Rock Partners II, L.P. He led the Split Rock Partners healthcare investment team and focused on opportunities in therapeutic medical devices. Mr. Will is an operating executive with extensive experience founding, funding, operating and selling medical device companies. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of numerous medical device companies including DVI Inc. (acquired by Eli Lilly), Adjacent Surgical, Inc. (acquired by GSII), Evalve, Inc. (acquired by Abbott Laboratories), (acquired by Medtronic in one of the largest acquisitions of a venture-backed medical device company), and Concentric Medical (acquired by Stryker) among others. Mr. Will served as General Partner of St. Paul Venture Capital, Inc.’ s healthcare team. He joined Split Rock Partners, LLC in November 2002. He served as Chief Executive Officer and President of AneuRx Inc. He founded The Foundry Inc. and served as its Chief Executive Officer. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Ardian Inc. He founded Split Rock Partners in 1998. Prior to that, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at AneuRx, Inc. He co-founded 11 companies including among others Ardian Inc. and Evalve Inc. Mr. Will co-founded Adjacent Surgical, Inc. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Devices for Vascular Intervention, where he led 16 employees to 550 employees and $100 million in revenue and acquisition by Eli Lilly and Company. He served at Abbott Laboratories in various marketing, business development and management capacities. He serves as Chairman of SetPoint Medical Corporation, Fractyl Laboratories Inc. and The Foundry, LLC. He served as Chairman of Ardian Inc. and Concentric Medical, Inc. Mr. Will serves as a Director of Foundry Newco XII, Inc. (formerly Twelve) and Fogarty Institute of Innovation. He served as a Director of Xtent Inc. since July 2002. He served as a Director of Concentric Medical, Inc. until August 10, 2007. He served as a Director of Cierra, Inc. and Ardian Inc. He is an inventor on 30 issued United States patents for medical devices. In 2008, Astia (fka the Women's Technology Cluster) named him as the recipient of the Deloitte Leadership in Mentoring Award for mentoring women executives. Mr. Will holds an M.B.A. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1981 and a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of Maryland in 1976.
