Robert T. Sharp

Biography

Robert T. (Bob) Sharp became executive president of Emerson Commercial & Residential Solutions, one of two Emerson business platforms, in February 2016. Emerson Commercial & Residential Solutions helps ensure human comfort and health, protect food quality and safety, advance energy efficiency, and create sustainable infrastructure. Sharp was appointed executive vice president and business leader of the predecessor Emerson Climate Technologies in 2015. In 2016, he was named to Emerson’s Office of the Chief Executive, which helps develop and guide the company’s global business strategies. Sharp joined Emerson in 1996 as a strategic planner at the corporate headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1998, he was appointed director of investor relations. In 2002, Sharp moved to the Rosemount Measurement business unit in Chanhassen, Minnesota, where he served as vice president of global marketing and vice president of global temperature. In 2006, he was named president of the Sweden-based Rosemount Level and Marine business. In 2009, Sharp was appointed president of Emerson Process Management Europe. In 2013 he was named vice president of profit planning and served in that role until 2015. In this position, Sharp led the development and implementation of the company’s long-term strategic operating plans for all of Emerson’s business units. He also supervised the company’s Corporate Supply Chain Operations. Sharp holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.
