Biography
Dr. Craig Horne is the Vice President Business Development, Energy Storage for Renewable Energy Systems (RES) Americas. Dr. Horne has been leading and participating in the development of electrochemical energy technologies and systems for over 20 years with direct experience in flow, lead-acid and lithium ion batteries as well as fuel cells. Craig has also been an active participant in regulatory and legislative processes such as California’s landmark energy storage initiative (AB2514). At RES Americas Craig is developing new markets for storage across the globe, working to bring new technologies into RES’s portfolio, evaluating project performance, and expanding storage business models. As EnerVault’s founding CEO and Chairman, Dr. Horne raised over $25M in venture and grant funding. Craig has also served as Vice President of Technology at World Energy Labs, Senior Vice President and Founder of Kainos Energy, and Chair of the Electrochemical Society, San Francisco Section. Dr. Horne is a youth girls lacrosse coach, has over 15 publications and has been awarded 21 US Patents. Dr. Horne holds degrees in Material Science and Engineering from UC Berkeley (Ph.D), UC Los Angeles (M.S.), and the University of Florida (B.S.).
