Robert G. Gower

Biography

Dr. Robert G. Gower, also known as Bob, Ph.D., founded Ensysce Biosciences, Inc. in 2008 and serves as its Chairman. In 2000, Dr. Gower co-founded Carbon Nanotechnologies, Inc. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Carbon Nanotechnologies Inc. Dr. Bob Gower has more than 50 years of business and senior management experience across a range of industries, including energy, chemical and technology. He served as Principal Owner, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Specified Fuels & Chemicals LLC, from 1997 to 2000. He served as President of Lyondell Petrochemical Company from April 1985 to 1994 and its Chief Executive Officer from October 1988 to 1996 and also served as its Chairman from August 1994 to 1997. From 1984 to 1985, he served as Senior Vice President for Atlantic Richfield Company, responsible for planning and advanced technology. From 1979 to 1984, he served as Senior Vice President of ARCO Chemical Company and its Vice President from 1977 to 1979. He held various executive, sales, research and engineering assignments with Sinclair and with ARCO after the merger of the two companies. Dr. Gower has been a Director of Kirby Corp., since 1998 and also served as its Presiding Director. He has been a Director of Glacier Oil & Gas Corp. since April 2014 and serves as its Lead independent Director. He serves as Director of Texas Nanotechnology Initiative, C Sixty Inc. and Actium Materials LP. He served as a Director at as OMNOVA Solutions Inc. He served as a Director of Keystone International Inc., since 1993. Dr. Gower served as a Director of Probex Corp., since February 2001. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Southern Illinois University and his doctorate in organic chemistry from the University of Minnesota.
