Research Interest
Research Interests DNA methylation Cancer epigenetics Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) DNA methyltransferase inhibitors Translational cancer research Research Synopsis Our laboratory seeks to understand the role of DNA methylation changes in cancer, with a current emphasis on epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). DNA methylation changes in cancer consist of both DNA hypermethylation (often a driving force for tumor suppressor gene inactivation) and DNA hypomethylation (which is linked to oncogene activation and genomic instability). For more information on our current research interests, see the Karpf Lab web page (Karpf Lab).
