Biography
John A. Fallon, M.D., was appointed to the Board of Directors on Jan. 25, 2016. Most recently, Dr. Fallon served as chief physician executive and senior vice president of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, where he was responsible for expanding the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of health care for its members. Before joining Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Dr. Fallon served as chief executive officer for clinical affairs at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, the only academic medical center in Brooklyn. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and has held multiple academic appointments since 2000. Dr. Fallon began his career as a practicing internist. He helped to found and lead physician hospital organizations, integrated delivery systems and academic medical centers, including North Shore Medical Center, North Shore Health System, Partners Community Health Care Inc. and Partners HealthCare System. Dr. Fallon serves as a director of AMAG Pharmaceuticals Inc. and is the immediate past lead independent director at Insulet Corp. He received his bachelor's degree from the College of the Holy Cross, his medical degree from the Tufts University School of Medicine and an MBA from the University of South Florida.
