Mhayse G. Samalya

Biography

Mr. Mhayse G. Samalya has been President of The Farmers Brand at Farmers Group, Inc. Mr. Samalya served as President of Distribution at Farmers Group, Inc. (Farmers Insurance Group). He served as an Executive Vice President of Farmers Group Inc. since April 2008. He joined Farmers in 2005 and also served as its President of the Farmers Business Insurance Division and Senior Vice President of Farmers Group, Inc. He took over responsibility for all activities relating to the Farmers' commercial lines business. Mr. Samalya served as President and Chief Executive Officer of The Hanover Insurance Company from 2001 to 2005. He joined Hanover in 1999 as the President of Hanover South Region. He began his career with Aetna in 1978. Mr. Samalya served with the Travelers Group and then Citigroup as its President and also held a number of senior positions including Regional Vice President and leading cross selling initiatives with Primerica Financial Services. Mr. Samalya spent his entire career in the insurance business. He has a Bachelor's Degree from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus, in Brookville, N.Y. and a Graduate of the Advanced Executive Education Program of the Wharton Business School.
