Roy Smith

Biography

Mr. Roy Smith has been President of Personal Lines at Farmers Group, Inc. since 2015 and served as its Senior Vice President of field operations for the Southwest Zone since January 2010. Mr. Smith served as Senior Vice President, Field Operations of Farmers Insurance Group (now, Farmers Group Inc.) from April 23, 2007 to January 2010. Mr. Smith joined Farmers in July, 1985 as a Personal Lines underwriter in the Mission, Kansas Regional Office. He moved to the Marketing department in 1986 as a Sales Management Trainee, and served additional positions, including Sales Administration Manager, Life Sales representative, and Division Agency Manager. Mr. Smith has a wealth of knowledge, passion and creativity to his new position. He served as a State Executive Director and in the Home Office as the Vice President of Sales. In October 1990, Mr. Smith transferred to the Portland, Oregon Regional Office as Regional Education Marketing Manager, and Marketing Administration Manager since 1992. Mr. Smith served as Regional Marketing Manager in the Colorado Springs, Colorado Regional Office since February 1997. He served as an Executive Director-Colorado since July 1998 and Executive Director-Ohio since October 16, 2000. Mr. Smith served as Vice President-Sales, Home Office since June 1, 2002 and Executive Director-Southern California from 2004 to June 2006 and Vice President-State Operations since June 2006. Mr. Smith holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Administration of Justice and Criminology from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Mo.
