Biography
Lucas Tipton is the GIS and Planning Manager at Farr West Engineering. Lucas has diverse civil design and construction management experience, with an emphasis on water and sewer projects. He provides design and management services to public utilities and small private water systems to improve facilities and obtain compliance through infrastructure planning, regional studies, project management, facility design, and construction inspection services. Lucas oversees our GIS department and works closely with our GIS staff to support our clients with asset management, mapping, database development, etc. Additionally, Lucas is Farr West’s lead hydrologic and hydraulic modeling engineer. He has worked on numerous models and well-versed in various engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Bentley WaterGEMS and SewerGEMS, and Innovyze InfoWater and InfoSwmm. Lucas's commercial and industrial land development experience is a result of more than four years of involvement with site design, utility design, master hydrologic analysis and design, road design, and coordination with permitting agencies and utility providers. Lucas earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno. Lucas is a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in Nevada and California. As an avid fly fisherman, skier, and outdoorsman, Lucas enjoys exploring the beauty of northern Nevada and surrounding areas
